There are so many things I enjoy about this series. They even find out what happened to Cassie’s mother, which is a conflict running in the background throughout the book. Together, they use their abilities to help solve cold cases, and throughout the book they solve several. Lia Zhang can tell when people are lying, and Dean Redding is another profile, like Cassie. Michael Townsend can read other people’s emotions. Sloane Tavish is like a super computer, and is a wiz with statistics and numbers.

At the beginning of the novel, the FBI reaches out to her, and she believes that they’re investigating her mother’s cold case, but instead they offer her a place on their special team with four other teenagers that have special abilities like she does. Cassie has the ability to understand and predict human behavior through the observation of their actions. “ The Naturals” is the first book in a series that takes place in Washington D.C., with the main protagonist of the story being a 17-year-old girl named Cassie Hobbes.

But this summer, while browsing the teen section at the public library for books, I found a series that really caught my eye. Typically when I am looking for a good book to read, I try to find something that is in the science-fiction genre.
